Have you ever had that one band, that band, that song, that album that you constantly have on repeat? You sing all the words, you constantly have the tunes in your head, and all you want to do is tell other people about them so that they'll love them too?

As of recent, that has been the Avett Brothers for me. I know that they're not exactly a new band, but I've just fallen completely in love with them, and I feel its fitting for the place that I'm at right now, the point of view I have on my life and the way certain lyrics and songs relate so accurately to the way I'm feeling. Lyrics and verse and words that fit so perfectly in the way I'm feeling that no other explanation is necessary other than to sing at the top of my lungs with the windows rolled down, ray-bans on and experiencing these freeing moments from a hectic life.

A life, that is no where near bad, but just has overwhelming tendencies. A life that has habits of ups and downs, goods and bads, times that feel as if they're never going to look up and all you want to do is crawl into the bed, or drive really fast, or simply cuddle up to the person next to you and be perfectly still, allowing yourself to be in that moment, and in that moment alone. Because once things around you begin to move again, the 4 exams, 3 papers, 5 projects, sick grandparents, grieving parents and just the presence of friends and loved ones is a burden. But not a burden in the usual sense. Its a comforting burden, a burden that makes you aware of all the blessings in your life. All the opportunities you've been afforded, the privileges you've been granted and the people God has blessed you with.

My life right now seems to be completely defined by this song, but it also proves to me that despite all the ups and downs, God has never given me something I can't handle. He will never give me something that he knows won't bring me closer to him.

College has gotten the best of me, and I've been up to my eyeballs in school work, best friends, boyfriend, and anything else you could possibly imagine over the last couple of months. Its been great though, it really has.

My roomamate, Lindsay and me. She's great. She's a fabulous writer who

seriously knows how to make everyone laugh.

Whitney. She's the littlest person I know and I love her to death. She's crude and little and gets away with most things. She has her own language that we're slowly getting used to.

Lindsey! I love this girl, she's sweet, funny and super charismatic when she wants to be. She's also given me the nickname, MamaBear. (Whitney's a weirdo in this picture)

   I've managed to find the best friends I could possibly imagine, and out of a pure miracle, I'm living with them, and will be next year and hopefully more than that. I love them so much, seriously. Yes, we can all drive each other crazy sometimes, but I've never had a friendship like this. One where I tell them everything, and we just do the weirdest shit we can possibly think of together because we know none of us will judge the others. I've seen way more and heard way more about all of their business than I could ever want to, but I don't mind because I love them, and I'm just so thankful for them.

  School is great. I love it, I'm so glad I ended up where I did. I couldn't have asked for a better college experience, seriously. I'm in love with it.

  Boyfriend. He's great, really. We've friends for a while. It somehow developed into more, don't ask me how, it just happened. It still confused me, but I'm okay with that. I can't wait to see where this relationship goes.

I just wanted to update a little bit, partly because I kind of just remembered about this and partly because I missed everyone on here and I feel horrible for losing touch with so many great people out here in the blogland that I adore so much.

He is quite possibly the sweetest, most dear thing to my heart.

he's a sweet snuggler, who can't fall asleep unless he's pressed against your side playing with your hair. He's crazy and wacky and has such a great personality.

You'd never know that he was 8 and couldn't talk or communicate by just looking at him, because he's just so darn cute.

So for now, I'll just love on him and fall asleep babysitting this sweet, sweet, sweet boy of mine.

This week has been amazing, I can't even describe it, even tonight, after someone really offended me and hurt me I was still able to have a good night and I love that.

I aced a Psych test and wrote a great paper, hung out with my friends and discovered that people really do care about me more than I thought they did.

I'll admit it, tonight I got dressed and went out fully expecting to drink some good drink, get drunk and just "have fun", but as I got to the party something inside of me shifted, that desire went away and I just felt disconnected from the whole situation. I quickly left and walked back to my dorm just as the party was busted. I ended up sitting on the floor in the hall for 2 hours. It was great.

I'm not saying I'll never drink ever again or go to another party, I'm just saying that I'm feeling something different, I'm not sure what it is. But it's not bad.

I'm also finding that I focus less on myself in recent days and more on building lasting relationships with people I really care about and putting myself out there with no reservations.

If its meant to be, if its not I'm good. I'm slowly seeing that God has a plan for me and I know that he has put certain people in my life for a reason and I'm so excited to see where he's taking me.

Of course I'm still going to keep wondering when that right guy will walk into my life, or if he's already there, but for now a certain peace has hit me and I no longer feel the need to focus only on that one desire.

and tomorrow/today I get to go home. and see my turtle and my cat and eat thai food. If only there wasn't this achey feeling in my heart, but its slowly fading...

Not to brag or anything, but I pride myself on being an expert on relationship advice. No, its not because I carry years of experience dating loads of guys, I just tend to have a good range of knowledge and common sense when it comes to those toughy issues, with friends, guys and parents, but...mostly guys. I'm the girl whos able to give an unbiased opinion on whether she's being the bitch in the relationship, he's being the jerk or if there are really some serious issues going on there.

However, when it comes to my real, almost non-existent love life, I'm a horrible person. I really am. I do all the things I tell people not to do, I chase after him, I get nervous, I freak out, over-analyze and expect too much from a guy who might not even be interested. and how do I respond to that? I become even more interested. So pretty much, I'm a ridiculous person, who could really use someone with some good ole boy advice, pronto. Especially if you're all into the sappy little details, because I'm sure to give em.

Also, can someone please explain to me how girls express their feelings?! I'm known for for being totally honest, and I really am, I'll tell you like it is, not rudely usually, just tell it! But I can't do it, I can't say how I feel, or even ask the simple question "What are we?!" I just don't see how girls do it....

oh yeah, I've kind of fallen in love with One Tree Hill again, but only the first 4 seasons...the music is just so good.

The start of something new...

You caught me, I am making an High School Musical reference, but it's totally fitting of my first weekend of college life. and so far, its been great! and I can't wait to see what the rest of college has in store for me(like the whole actually taking classes part).

So as the weekend goes, I moved in on Thursday to my cute little dorm room with my roomie Lindsay, who I've mentioned before, because she also has a blog!

We got it all decorated and fixed up, and I must say, it looks really cute. Super simple, but I love it! We just chilled out and went on a Wal-mart run Thursday night, and then Friday night was the best college initiation ever.

We went to a party at an apartment of one of Lindsays friends, and just hung out playing flip cup and talking. I actually won a Flip Cup elimination tournament, I'm pretty freakin proud of myself. Although, next time I need to remember to eat before I go, because the next day was definitely not as fun as the night before.

And last night I just hung out with my suite-mates watching movies and talking(and facebook stalking).

The one with the 18 hour day

Yesterday I spent the entire day with my best friends doing 3 of my new found favorite obsessions:

I don't know if I would ever actually make a real profile, but fake profiles are quite fun for simply perusing and finding funny profiles and people we know, I promise, it doesn't sound as bad as it seems. (Plus, it says it "alright to look")

Making Dysfunctional train wreck cakes:

If you can't tell this is our attempt at making an "awesome possum" cake for my friend Maisie's early 18th birthday. The cake was dyed red to look like blood, but as the cake fell apart, it began to look even more gross. But it ended up tasting delicious and looking kind of adorable.

PS I Love You:

I had never actually seen the movie before, but I'd definitely heard about it, that it was the saddest movie ever, and that I would ball my eyes out. To my surprise, and I think my friends too, I didn't cry one bit, and I usually cry at everything, I mean everything! Maybe it was like opposite hormones or the fact that I wasn't by myself or in the dark, but I didn't cry. (Don't hate me for it) I did like it though, just not Hilary Swanks acting, or her outfits.

Overall my weekend was really good, and it should've been filled with more packing, but I'll get to it, eventually. But in just 2 days, my best friend, Christine, leaves Macon for UGA to rush a sorority, because she's cool like that.(Plus, she has a blog!)

And then in THREE days, I move out, and it couldn't come fast enough.

Fill in the blanks Friday: Foodie Edition

1. Today for breakfast I ate technically, nothing. Although on the way out the door around 11 I ate some ritz crackers and orange juice.

2. My go to/never fail recipe lemon and rosemary roasted chicken, its just so easy and delicious.

3. Something I eat that other people think is weird is I don't really eat weird things, but I eat stuff oddly. I always have a "best bite", something on my plate that I save for the very end just to round it all out. Don't ever steal my last bite.

4. My worst cooking disaster ever was I ruined a pot of green beans so bad one thanksgiving, it was terrible.

5. If I could only eat one flavor of ice cream the rest of my life it would be rainbow sherbet, it is absolute perfection.

6. One food I hate and avoid at all costs is a dish my grandma makes call "aspic" pronounced: "ASS-PICK" and yes, I'm totally serious. Its like tomato jello with okra, olives and green onions. It is absolutely disgusting, and the name is so fitting.

7. What is your favorite meal? Breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Lunch! I've recently discovered the joys of going out to lunch with friends(singular or plural). It really is the perfect time to enjoy someone else's company, and most of the time I end up sitting and talking with them for hours! .

Now onto today:

Today my mom and I made a little trek out to Warner Robins(a nearby town) to eat at our favorite Thai restaurant where the heavenly coconut soup is served, but to our surprise, when we arrived, the heavenly Ladda Thai was gone. It was still a Thai restaurant, but it just wasn't the same.

The one where I sneeze a lot

So if you've ever been around me for more than five minutes then you've probably realized I'm somewhat of a gross person, and no, I don't stink or spit, I am just in a constant state on allergy ridden sniffles. Seriously, I don't think I've fully been able to breathe through my nose since I was 7, so I feel bad about 1/4 of the month because something just happens to being blooming that I'm allergic to, and well, I'm allergic to a lot of things.

Dogs

Cats

Trees

Flowers

Grass

plus: dust, dust mites, dander, pollen,

strong smelling perfumes, down and feathers.

But, now, thanks to two things, all of my constant sniffing, sneezing, eye-watering and itchy throatness will all soon be a thing of the past.

1)After a dysfunctional series of allergy tests, I am now on a series of monthly shots and twice daily drops, its all tedious, but it has good results.

and the strangely more exciting news:

2)I will be getting my tonsils out this December when I'm home for my first semester of college, and I couldn't be more excited. I get strep about 4-6 times a year, due to my tonsils getting infections, and I know it will hurt, but I'm ready to be done with the constant itchiness.

I'll let you know when I know the exact dates for the surgery, but its just great news for something that has bothered me for so many years. I mean, I even missed elementary school field trips due to my constant bouts of strep, so I'm ready for this!

BTW, I leave for school in 6 days, no big deal or anything.(kidding, I'm freaking out).

The one where I only feel one thing

I hate that on a day where I'm busy doing fun things with different people all I can still feel is disappointment, over everything. And I hate that, its not what I want to feel, but its just there.

I think its because of lots of things that I realized I didn't get to do this summer. Like going to the beach with my friends, day trips, road trips, random movie nights and late night sleepovers. And none of it happened. I didn't get to go get peaches or go to Tybee for a day, or stay up late and watch Mary-Kate and Ashley movies. No, none of it.

All I did was watch loads of Grey's Anatomy.

I still want to do ALL of that, but guess what, I only have SEVEN days left, SEVEN!

Lordy, lordy, I think I'm just freaking out about going off to school, but one thing I know for sure, is that I really want a beach day, so bad! I think it's necessary for my sanity!

Comfort in the oddest form

Today has been one of those days where I'm just sitting around the house watching Grey's Anatomy, so I normally just surf the internet, and I logged onto my Myspace account which I have logged into in years and I came across this post that I made on

July 17 2008, almost exactly 2 years ago.

"I have had the most amazing few weeks,

its really made me appreciate the decisions I've made,

even the ones that I didn't like at first,

the ones that hurt.

At one point I thought that I had to fix everything, everyone,

but now I realize that sometimes things can't be mended.

today was such a great day...

I don't think I could say that enough.

but now I'm going to pop in a "Friends" disk,

and maybe eventually fall asleep."

I couldn't possibly tell you what I was talking about at this point in my life or what I had been doing that made it so good, but it just comforts me to know that I was able to come to that realization about trying to fix things, because I feel like I'm always doing that.

But now after I read this I know I don't have to feel that way, because things will still work out. All I know is that this was about my friends, friends who have become such a great part in my life. And even though I have so many questions and worries about them and our relationships, I know that they made me so happy and they really have been such a great part of the past four years.

and even if all of them don't stay that way as I enter college, I still know that I'll make new friends despite my hesitations.

It is just such a comfort.

Especially that ALL of these girls are what I aim NOT to be in my daily life, although a lot of the time my overthinking, analyzing and trusting ways end up looking a lot like a Grey/Joey/Felicity kind of pattern.

But I work through it.

Tonight for dinner

Tonight for dinner I threw together a bunch of things in my families pantry to make this:

It was so delicious! and I decided that if anyone wanted to try and make it, heres the recipe:

4 chickens breasts(skin on)

12 basil leaves(fresh)

goat cheese

sun-dried tomatoes(in oil)

olive oil

salt

pepper

balsamic vinegar

thyme(fresh)

garlic(fresh)

Cut off extra fat and skin other than the top skin, off the chicken. Take the basil and stick 3 leaves under each breast under the skin. Continue with tomatoes and cheese, all under the skin. Cut the garlic into thin slices and stick 3 or 4 slices under the skin as well. Season generously with salt and pepper and massage in olive oil onto each breast. Cut thyme into bits and sprinkle on top and finish with a few little drops of balsamic vinegar on top.

(YUMYUMYUM)

Bake at 375 for about 35-45 minutes, it just depends on the thickness. Keep covered for about 25 minutes of the bake time and uncover to let brown a little bit.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1. This weekend for The 4th of July I'll be going to church, and then a cookout at my parents friends house that we go to, its always really good food and they have a great pool .

2. Fireworks are getting a little old .

3. Nothing says summer like stacks of series and books in my room, messed up sleep and eating schedules and hopefully spending lots of time at the pool .

4. My favorite summer memory is white water rafting the summer after 9th grade with a bunch of my good friends from church .

5. My favorite thing about summer is staying up late and sleeping later, baking loads of new recipes and the great movies that always come out. Plus my tan .

6. Summer in a word is short .

Many people when asked what their favorite food some will say specific answers like a meal that they've eaten in the past, or a good steak or fancy chocolate.

Not me.

When asked EVER what my favorite food is, or what one food I couldn't live without my response is almost always:

CHEESE...

and not one specific kind, no, I love all cheese. Seriously, I mean I like all cheese, I have yet to find a cheese that I don't like.

I think I need to live overseas where I can eat all the tiny

fruit/cheese/salad( and eventually...wine) meals that I want. When I went to France a few years ago the best meals to me were the super simple ones that were simply made of a few different cheeses, yum fruit, especially any stone fruits, and just a really fresh salad and bread, I mean it was great. And my parents were pairing it with wine(not that I could drink at that point).

I need to live in France or Italy, because in Italy I get OLIVES and bacon!

So I just thought I'd share my nice little love with you, seeing as today all I've eaten is cheese, really good cheese.

I seriously don't know whats wrong with me and my inability to complete a well written, in depth and more in topic and serious post. Just to show you what I mean, here are a few of the titles:

The Edge was even more amazing, I cannot possibly describe how amazing it was to be surrounded by so much of Gods beauty in an environment where everyone is there for hopefully, the same reason, to glorify and worship their heavenly father. And there was definitely a ton of that going on.

The amazing worship was led by a band fronted by the talented Wayne Kerr. The Wayne Kerr band has been leading worship at the camp for the past 3 years and the their own personal love and glory for the Lord just enhances the camps ability to glorify in everything that they do.

The speakers, skits and leaders were all so inspiring and definitely helped in the camps amazing, and main goal of leading

how amazing is that? and this camp definitely brought me closer more than I've ever been. Its made me realize that I have people put in my life that are my mission, and I'm more than ever, inspired to become a youth intern at my church.

For the next 5 days I will be surrounded by 12-14 year olds at The Edge, a Presbyterian middle school youth camp that is held at Covenant College in Lookout Mtn. Tennessee. I went to the camp as a 7th and 8th grader and I still remember it as one of the best times of my life. It was so much fun, and it was also one of the times I've felt the closest to God and to really feeling as if I was on the right path to a daily relationship with my heavenly father.

Middle school is a rough and life-changing time in a students life and The Edge provides a week long, fun filled experience with God for these youth and I am so excited and blessed to be able to be a part of this wonderful ministry.

With activities such as giant games of hide and seek, girls and boys devotionals, fun filled game shows, an amazing band(The Wayne Kerr Band), a commitment night for the youth, a thrift store tacky dance and a trip to White water all happen in this one AMAZING week.

I would love to have all of my readers prayers in that the Lord will bless me and the students who are in my care this week and this week will be a life-changing week for them, as it was for me at age 13.

1. If you could have one of Superman's, powers which one would you want? Superhuman strength..Flight..Superhuman speed..X-Ray vision..etc
It would probably be flight, because even though something like mind-reading would be really cool for a little while, it would be awful to find out horrible secrets and things like that.
2. The best thing I ever won is....? I really don't win things, so I definitely don't have a particular favorite. I've won a few drama things, but thats about it.

3. Have you ever skyped with a bloggy friend? No, I haven't. I've made a few friends on the blogsphere, but unfortunately at this time I don't feel like any of them are close enough for us to skype. I'd love to have great blog friends though, and I'm definitely working on making some, because they really are great.

4. What is your favorite Summer month? June, because you get that rush of summer, and in Georgia is the coolest month of the summer, although thats not saying much as its still 106 degrees here.

5. Pool, Lake, or Ocean? ALL THREE! I love them all so much for different reason, right now though, I really want to go to the lake. I'm so in the mood to do some tubing and jet skiing.

6. One of my favorite Summer memories is.....? Getting peaches, from anywhere at anytime. They always have the most amazing peach ice cream.

7. What's your favorite secret bargain? Cheap television season from Moviestop at some random shopping center in my town. They have this giant table that they set up and they lay out masses of tv series that they sell for $10.

8. Do you plan on or have you been watching the World Cup? I haven't really been, but I do plan on watching it some. Especially since some of my friends are all watching it together for a few games, plus some of the guys, especially the Italians, are really, really hot.

I've always been a big reader, I admit, its mostly of different levels of chick lit and a few classics, but I've always really love to read. I recently finished a book called "The Perks of being a Wallflower" and it was absolutely fantastic. It follows Charlie, a semi-nieve and and thoughtful young boy through his freshman year of high school. The story and plot are told through letters that Charlie sends to an annoymous reader, where he delves into his inner thoughts and paints pictures of great music and good books. In the book Charlie is encouraged to read and write papers by his english teacher, who assigns him books such as The Fountainhead, The Catcher in the Rye and The Stranger(which I read this year). The book was so good and his love of reading have both influenced me to take up my habit of nonstop reading this summer. My first step will be to read and finish all the unread books that I have on my bookshelves, which is a lot.

Anyways, I plan on keeping up with the large list of books I want to read this summer, and I'll be doing that through a list on this blog. If anyone out there has a list of unread books like mine I'd love to have company on this list of mine, so definitely let me know and join in on the fun!

1. If a person has a booger in their nose. and you can see it, do you tell them?
IS it weird that this question hits close to home? Because it does, anyways, I've got some moles along the side of my left nostril that came up a few months ago, but people keep thinking that they're boogers, so I keep getting the "knowing swipes" from random people and the "lean and whispers" from friends. Its getting ridiculous. But thankfully I'm hitting up that dermatologists office next week!
2. What are you passionate about?
I'm not sure if I've found something I'm really passionate about yet, I love lots of things, like my friends and the idea of things like love and writing, but since I'm not really doing much right now, I think I'm passionate about summer.
3. How long have you been blogging?
Technically, I've had this blog since last May, but I only wrote 3 posts, then I came back on Wordpress in September and now I've been blog obsessed on Blogger since November. So really only 9 months.
4. What is your favorite "summer" drink?
Well, I know I'm only 18 but I love a mimosa, especially with pulpy orange juice. But since the Champagne isn't really rolling out all the time, but during the summer sweet tea and strawberry smoothies by the pool are amazing.
5. What is your favorite type of music?
I hate to use the word "indie", I really do. It's actually become one of my least favorite words in the last few months, but when it comes to music sometimes I listen to a lot of Alternative-rockish-popish-indiesh music.
6. Something I do before I go to bed is......?
Watch about 1/3 of one of the episodes of my TV series, right now I'm watching the second season of Everwood.
7. My Summer vacation plans are...?

Fill in the Blank Friday, on a Saturday

1. My dream vacation would be well if we're going with dreams, then I'd like to go to New York with my friends for a week and see shows and walk around. And then I'd leave from JFK to go on a six week tour of Europe where we'd stay in hostels with with complete stranger, and a hot guy. We'd go to all the local bars and pubs and do things only the people who have lived there for years would know to do. The trip would end in a Greece on a beautiful beach, with the hot guy.

2. The best trip I've ever taken was to either New York with my mom, or to Tybee with my best friends. With my mom we just walked around the different neighborhoods of New York eating in little cafes and looking through local record shops and clothing stores. It was such a great trip, plus I met Ace Young from American Idol, and damn, was he fine. With Tybee it was the first little bit of vacation I've really ever had with my friends. It was so great to just ride around the island on bikes and look at the beautiful little houses. We even saw the house that they used in The Last Song with Miley Cyrus and my favorite eye candy, Liam Hemsworth.

3. The most important items to take on a road trip are my special motion sickness concoction(Advil, benydryl and diet coke), some great music(dance tunes, especially Ke$ha) and snacks(sour patch kids, toasted almonds and sunchips are my faves!).

4. The next trip I'm looking forward to is hopefully one taken with my friends. We've talked about going on a one night road trip to Savannah and Tybee, just to be on the beach and walk around downtown. Just one night to get away on my own with my friends before we all go off to different school. Although if that doesn't actually happen then the only thing I have to look forward to is a trip to Ikea in ATL, Milledgville for orientation, Lookout Mountain for the youth camp that I'm a counselor at, and the most recent trip I'm going to have to make in a trip to one town over, Gray, to pay off my speeding ticket.

5. If I had to pick one CD to listen to for a long road trip it would be a giant mix CD full of the best Glee hits, Ke$ha, Gaga, and some old school Britney, Backstreet and NSYNC.

6. The biggest disaster I've ever encountered while traveling was just some minor bumps, really. On a trip to Virginia we ended up staying in some sketch motel with sand in the sheets and hair in the sink. We took a ridiculously long back road once to DC. We got a parking ticket in LA, we also had to turn around on the way to San Diego to go back to my cousins house to get my blanket. We went on a D-day cruise of Europe and other than the 4 other kids on the boat other than me and my brother, my mom was the youngest person. and she was 40.

7. My favorite traveling memory is hopefully yet to come. I mean I know I've been to more places than a lot of people my age, like California, New York 3 times, and Europe. But I really want to go on more road trips with people other than my family. I also want to go back to California and drive all up and down the state, I want to go to like Alabama, Texas, Louisiana and definitely Tennessee and Nashville. And you'd think coming from the south I would've been to Charleston, but nope, I've never been. But I will eventually take an amazing road trip around the south. and then I'll take one around the north and new England. and maybe one of those, or both will involve a smokin boy.

Because Thursday's tend to be my busiest days of the week, so as I did last week I will just write a few:

Today I:

- woke up before 10, thats ridiculously early for summer.

- went to an abandoned Montesary in the middle of no where and it was beautiful.

- went geocaching with 2 of my best friends for the 2nd time, it is so much fun.

- ichatted for the first time, a friend of mine controlled my desktop and it was crazy.

- finished Vampire Diaries, I was seriously on edge the entire 45 minutes, it is such a great show.

-rolled around on my kitchen floor with my dog Daisy.

-ran 1.74 miles, and loved it.

- ate really healthy, other than the oreo's, but I'm working on it!

- drove like an old lady, I am never getting a ticket again.

- commented on a thousand different blogs, I'm back in the game!

-put off writing my 40 Thank you notes, it'll happen, eventually.

Geocaching: a high tech scavenger hunt

I'm obsessed and I haven't even done it yet.

Geocaching is the new modern scavenger hunt. You sign up online and once you've filled in a little bit of your info and give yourself a username you enter your zip code and at the hit of a search button hundreds of listings for "Geocaches" pop up. A geocache is normally a small container with a lid that is filled with small knick knacks and a log list. The Geocaches have specific cordinates that you put into your GPS device and you are able to go hunting for the little treasures.

I just heard about this a few days ago, and I finally looked it up tonight and I am seriously obsessed. I can't wait to do this, and hopefully do it right and find some really neat stuff. I think it would be so much fun to go out and do this with friends too.

I can seriously imagine spending an ideal summer day waking up late and heading out with a starbucks iced drink and some tennis shoes on and finding some of these little geocaches, and finding cool little spots around my town and its surrounding areas.

It's my perfect summer activity.

1.One fashion trend I really regret is....Rompers, I'm sorry any grown women who wear them, but you pretty much just look like an idiot unless you have the body of a 12 year-old, and even then they still look a little ridiculous.

2. The one thing that always completes any outfit is...a good necklace or pair of earrings, you seriously won't see me walk out of the house without one or the other(or both). I'm totally into long chain like necklaces, my favorite right now its a chain necklace with a wolf, tree and leaf charms on it.

3. I would describe my personal style as...I'm 18, and lazy and cheap. Does that count? I wear alot of t-shirts and gym shorts with flip flops during the summer, and on nights out I'll wear a cotton skirt with a vneck, sandals and a cute necklace. So maybe cheap, hippy chic. (that sounds too nice) I wear A LOT of tie-dye. And I'm always telling myself if I were smaller and looked good in other things, that I'd have the best fashion sense ever. haha

4. My fashion muse is...Oh gosh, don't do this to me, there are so freakin many! Roxy and Whitney from the City, and Lauren Conrad most of the time. I love flowy cute chic things.

5. If I could own one designer piece of clothing it would be..... probably anything by Marc Jacobs, or this Rebbeca Minkoff cross body studded leather rocker bag, its so cute.

6. I would love to raid the wardrobe.... way too many for me to even start to mention, but I really like Amanda Seyfriend, Rachel Bilson, Selena Gomez and that whole hippie chic thing, but also the high wasted skirts.

7. Today I am wearing... rolled up skinny jeans, reef flip flops and a vintage UGA shirt(which too big on me), with a pair of flower button earrings, I rolled out of bed at 7:15 for graduation practice at 8.

Moving on or Getting over?

(I got to play on my dream computer today, a 15in macbook pro today, while I babysat for the best kids ever. This is Michael, hes 9,adorable and I love him.)

I figured out why I think its hitting me really hard that I'm graduating on Saturday, I think its because of the fact that everytime I've left a school I've lost signifigant amounts of important friends and I always end up pulling away from everyone at the end, most likely in order to protect myself from hurt. And now I think I'm just scared that when I leave high school, the friends that I've made here, which are the best friends I've ever had, will end up hurting me as well and in the end I'll have pulled away and I'll lose some of the best, most important friends in my house, that are so dear to my me.
Maybe I have issues with moving on, but is that so bad? I mean, it still hurts me a little bit thinking about my friends from middle school who I thought I'd be with forever are now those people that I avoid in Barnes and Noble. Its probably just my own personal way of protecting myself from putting myself out there, knowing that if someone says something that I don't like or if things don't go the way I want them to then I'll end up getting hurt in the end, and just pulling away like I always do.
And I'm making every effort now to avoid pulling away from my friends after high school, I'm making sure that the people I care the most about know that they're important to me and that I have every intention of staying in contact with them, even if it is only through the occasional text about Gossip Girl or links left on facebook walls.
I know that growing up, graduating and moving forward are essential facts of growing up as a normal person, but it's still just an overall terrifying thought, and I guess I'm just looking for comfort, knowledge and encouragement over the next couple of months/weeks.

May has seriously been a rush of school, friends, events and all sorts of annoying stressful things, all of which have kept me a way from posting. I can't even believe that today is the 13th of May and that in exactly NINE DAYS! I will be graduating. The next few days are going to be the busiest leading up until my last day of school on Tuesday with my favorite Lit classes breakfast. Tomorrow I'm going to a Braves game with some of my friends and I'm currrently working on a Lit project on TS Eliots, The Wasteland. But besides from the busyiness, this may is going great, except for how quickly its already coming to an end!

I first heard of Neon Trees the summer of 2009 through The Killers tour, which I desperately wanted to go to. And while no one could ever could hold a candle to The Killers, Neon Trees comes pretty close. They're a pretty new band, having only been signed to Mercury in early 2009. I bought there newest album maybe a month ago, and I've been playing it nonstop, and they're seriously a band worth sharing with everyone. They're currently being featured on MTV during The Hills marathons and they have 2 music videos out for their first single "Animal", which is ridiculously catchy.
All of there music has great lyrics and fun beats providing for a great alternative-pop-rock feel, and I've actually been trying to come up with my favorite song of theirs, but its impossible because I love all of them. Currently they are on tour with 30 Seconds to Mars and Mute Math, which are 2 more bands that are worth checking out(especially since 30 has the beautiful Jared Leto). They actually have a concert Thursday night the 29th in Atlanta but that happens to be 4 days away and the busiest day this week, but I'm sure the show will be amazing.

oh, and my new roomie Lindsay also loves them, so we'll definitely be blasting a ton of awesome music in our dorm next semester. Darn, I am so excited!

Chatroulette: not as creepy as it sounds.

I'm assuming you've heard of chatroulette, if you haven't, then you might live it a whole. Thats just my honest opinion. But anyways, Chatroulette is just another social network that connects you to other people, the catch though is that you don't know the people you are being connected to. The way the website works is you log in, and as soon as the computer recognizes the webcam you are connected with a random person from anywhere around the world. As a warning, sickos do get on the website and use the website as a means to pleasure themselves in front of millions of people, just beware.

When I first heard of it, I was instantly weirded out by it, but last week during art class when we had a substitute of few of my friends and I used my laptop and talked to lots of people across the world, here are a few.

This is David, from Ireland. He is 19 and a cyclist and we all discussed Van Morrison, Bono and Prom(he called it Pram).

I don't remember his name, but he had one of the most honest and creative greetings we're ever come across on the website.

As long as you are aware of the possibilities of naked men, then chatroulette offers a wide array of entertainment and cultural awareness, just don't do it by yourself, a group of friends is much better.

Epitome of a wonderful weekend

Up until Wednesday afternoon I was dreading this weekend, I was expecting it to be boring and stale, filled with only my parents and old The OC episodes(not that theres anything wrong with The OC). This weekend was prom weekend, and up until late wednesday afternoon, I wasn't going to prom, because of some stupid societal standard that implies that a girl has to have date to go to prom. Well, I've never been one to listen to what other people are saying, so why would I let myself fall into the the "date" trap. Wednesday night I decided enought was enough, I headed over to the mall and found the first dress I'd looked at a few months back, and I got it. I bought my ticket and was all prepared to dance the night away and do senior lead out with my dad, which is exactly what I did. and it ended up being one of the best nights of my life. It was simply fun with (almost) all of my best friends.

So that was prom, afterwards I just hung out with my friends playing wii,watching High School musical and finally falling asleep around 6 in the morning.

Now onto Saturday Night!

I pretty much slept all day saturday, but that night I got all into some live music at Bearstock, where I saw Cartel, The Maine and We the Kings. Concerts are probably my favorite thing ever, listening to the music, the bass thumping through and all the moving and jumping with 300 other people who love the music as much as you do.

Cartel! I first heard about them a few years ago, and I've pretty much been listening to them nonstop, I adore them. Plus they have the best bass player in the world!

The Maine, I've recently been hearing alot of about them, and I've heard a few of their songs but their show was amazing, and their lead singer is adorable with the best laugh ever!

Now Today is all about Lost, I haven't watched the last 5 episodes so today I'm sitting my butt in this chair and not getting up until I'm completely caught up, or until its time to go to youth group(and Panera!)

Serena, not Sabrina

As a child I grew up with dogs, but for my moms 35th birthday, I got my first cat.(Yes, I know, twisted logic for me to get a cat on her birthday). We went to the pets mart, and looked around, and I went straight for the cat with the half pink/half black nose who nibbled my fingers and had the softest coat. At the store, they give the animals names just to make them seem more appealing, and this one came with the name "Serena". My mom begged for me to change it, saying that it was a silly name for a cat and that I should change it to Sabrina. Being the little obstinant child that I was at the age of 7. So she was my Serena, she followed me around everywhere, she was my baby, and despite how allergic I was to her, I loved her so much.
Since we first got her we've had other cats show up since we got Serena, the first was a orange tabby that I called Cat(like in Breakfast at Tiffanys), but my next door neighbor took him when she moved. And on the first day of school of my 6th grade year Cally showed showed up at our door. Serena being "the first child" of our family, was jealous and started peeing on our beds(gross, right?) but being my baby, I still loved her. And since then we've lost one more Cat, Cally, and gained one, my Rigby(or King Rigbius,Rigs).

Yesterday though, while we were eating dinner at my grandparents house, some dogs in our neighborhood attacked and killed Serena in our front yard. Thankfully, some of our neighbors were walking home and saw what was happening so they beat off the dogs and stayed with her, so she wasn't alone. They then wrapped her up and left her on our front porch, since we weren't home. They called us and left us a message, so when we got home, my parents listened to the message and I knew something was wrong when they both came upstairs and looked at me pathetically while I was watching 90210.

Lets just say I was absolutely devastated, I mean I'm sobbing as I type this.

I know it may seem like she was only a cat, but she was my baby and I'd had her for 11 years. She was fat and cryed alot, but we would still have our little meowing conversations in the hall, where she'd sit on my lap and whine and I'd scratch her back.

I knew that she would eventually die, I mean she was old. But I just can't believe that she went this way. That she was in our own front yard and was viciously attacked. Atleast I have the comfort of knowing that someone was with her when she died, and that she knew I loved her more than anything.

Usually I have no shame when it comes to my guilty pleasures, but really, this one can seem pretty bad, if you haven't experienced it first hand. Its like a strange combination of American Idol and the Real World with a little bit of Americas Next Top Model thrown in there. Its called If I Can Dream and its a reality tv and internet sensation. There are weekly episodes that come on hulu that summarize what the group of 6 aspiring hollywood starlets are doing and have been doing. The interesting and completely new and sensational thing is that the group is also available in the "dream house" 24/7.

The house is made up of 2 aspiring musicians, Alex Lambert(ex idol) and Justin Gaston(male model and Miley Cyrus's ex), Ben a young New Yorker, Kara a spunky texas girl, and Amanda a Marilyn Monroe lover, who all hold the dream of becoming Hollywood actors and actresses. The last in the group is Gigliani, an aspiring high fashion model.
The series, through live online broadcasts, personal Vlogs and the casts weekly Hulu episode, shares the 6 "dreamers" on the road to fame. You are able to experience their audtions, whether good or dissapointing, suprise visitors(Kris Allen, David Cook, Chet Cannon) and all the funny things that can happen when you put 6 complete 20 somethings in a house together.

I know it may sound a little ridiculous but its really cool, and its so neat to see real people pursue their dreams in front of America.

Weekend Recap

1. Showers or baths? I'm pretty much a strictly shower person, but if I'm really really sure, I'll take a salt bath.

2. Do you have any crazy urges? Not really, I guess I sometimes just think about driving up to atlanta and going to the airport and hoping on a plane, but I haven't done that....yet.

3. What is one thing we don't know about you? I can't pogo, like on a pogo stick, I fall right off.

4. Exercise..love it or hate it? love/hate. I hate getting ready to go to the gym, but once I get there I like it, other than the fact that sometimes it gives me horrible asthma attacks.

5. Do you think you have a good body image? um, not at all.

6. Flour or corn tortillas? Corn, I pretty much don't eat a lot of flour filled stuff at home. My dad has cileac disease, so we don't eat anything with wheat in it at home.

7. How do you celebrate Easter? Church, Giant easter egg hunt with all of my family(and money!) and then we all eat ham(yuck) and then NAPTIME!

8. Hard boiled Easter eggs or plastic eggs? plastic, because of the candy/money. =)

We got to Tybee around 12, walked on the beach, checked in and ate lunch. Then we rented bikes and rode all over the island from our end, to the pier to the other end where all the giant old houses are, it was gorgeous. We then settled on a North end beach where we played in the low tide and made drip castles(my favorite). We went into Savannah that night and ate right on Riverstreet, I had yummy Salmon. We then passed out at home, woke up the next morning, packed up and spent the rest of the day on the beach, laying out, walking to the peir for ice cream and listening to girly music and getting nice and burnt. and I loved every minute of it, I have the best friends.

I'm leaving tomorrow for the beach with my friends(+the madre), apparently 18 year olds aren't trustworthy, haha.

I'm super excited, we're leaving at 8 sharp in the morning(hopefully it won't turn into 9) and then we're off to Savannah/Tybee.

I really really really want to go into Savannah tomorrow night after we've chilled on the beach all day, especially so I can take some cool pictures and walk around downtown, its so gorgeous there, but some of my friends don't want to! Crazy, right?

I'll defintely take a ton of picture to post. This spring break has been better than most, but its gone by so fast. Once this week is over I have to worry about: graduation, gym, college(COLLEGECOLLEGECOLLEGE), and my AP art portfolio(I'm not prepared).

But I will NOT let everything(college, parents, fighting, romantic desires, pressure) get to me this weekend. This weekend I will aim to be unlike myself, and go with the flow and have fun. I hope I can atleast do that.
